(Memorial Book)


Goal: to compile a list of all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany and Austria who did not survive World War II.

Each person whose name appears in the Gedenkbuch should have an entry with all possible vital detail.

The following are the details sought:
  • Full name (maiden name if female)
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Names of both parents (maiden name of mother)
  • Date of LDS baptism
  • Place of LDS baptism
  • Date and place of priesthood ordinations (listed in order, AP then MP)
  • Date of marriage
  • Place of marriage
  • Number of children
  • Military branch (army, navy, air force, etc.) and rank
  • Date of death
  • Place of death
  • Cause of death
  • Source of detail

Our Gedenkbuch has more than 1,300 names as of April 2009.

  • Private information sources (eye witnesses)

  • Pedigree Resource File (www.familysearch.org) [PRF]
  • LDS census records (1925, 1930, 1935) on microfilm
  • Other sources as they are identified
