Eyewitnesses
We assure all eyewitnesses that their personal contact data will not
be shared with anyone, meaning their names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses,
etc. The contents of their interviews may be quoted or summarized in our book(s),
but interview texts will likewise not be made available to other persons.
Qualifications:
If you qualify or know of someone who does please see our Interviews page for more information. We want to locate and contact individuals who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living in Germany during World War II. We also wish to speak with U.S. soldiers who came into contact with German branches while serving there at the end of the war, i.e., 1945. Those who fit this description or know of someone who does please contact us! We want to give all surviving Latter-day Saints of this description the opportunity to share their story. We invite referrals from individuals who know of people who fit the above description. Often the contact information given to us is incomplete. For example, we are often given a first and last name along with the city and state where the person lives. In order to send them a letter discussing the project we need the complete address. To find the complete contact information the White Pages are generally used. To locate GIs, we are contacting posts of Utah’s Veterans of Foreign Wars. We also search the daily obituaries printed in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News. While we are sad to read of German members passing away, we often find the names of surviving relatives who qualify for our study. Please contact us with related information at rpm@byu.edu |
